Council Member Details

Susan McVey

Susan lives in the rural setting of Crosshands, Ayrshire, with her long suffering husband Martin and their two teenage children, Rebekah and Sam. It is her dream to become a successful author with a string of ‘Young Adult’ novels to her name.

Many of her story ideas come to her in the evening while she is roaming the countryside with her two collies, Sonic and Tyke, or when she is dabbling in the kitchen, following a recipe that never turns out to be what was intended.
She is also a keen horsewoman which has been a passion for as long as she can remember.

Being fairly new to the world of writing, she was introduced to the Federation of Writers (Scotland); Weegie Wednesday; The Writers Umbrella and is a postal member of Largs Writers Group.

The highlight of Susan’s social calendar is the SAW Conference in March. With two conferences under her belt, she is delighted to assist the Council in working towards her third. She has been highly motivated and inspired by all who continue to take part and attend, making this a wonderful weekend of comradeship and learning.
